🇭🇺 Mogyoród, Hungary
Hungaroring
Monaco without the walls
Often described as "Monaco without the walls", the Hungaroring is a tight, twisty, almost relentless ribbon of medium- and low-speed corners with precious few straights to draw breath. Set in a natural amphitheatre of dusty hillsides near Budapest, it offers little run-off in spirit and even less opportunity to overtake, so track position and a clean qualifying lap are paramount. The constant cornering loads the tyres and keeps drivers physically busy from start to finish, while the dusty, often dirty surface punishes anyone who runs wide. Mid-summer heat is brutal here, stressing both rubber and cooling and turning races into endurance tests. Resurfacing has tweaked its character over the years, but its essence endures: a demanding rhythm circuit where a well-balanced car and flawless precision count for everything.
