Compact, old-school and run anti-clockwise, Interlagos packs more drama into a short lap than almost anywhere. The start plunges downhill into the Senna S, a flowing left-right that sets the tone for an undulating, sweeping layout draped over a São Paulo hillside. The climb back to the line through the long, loaded Junção and onto the pit straight makes the slipstream potent and the run to Turn 1 a recurring battleground. Notoriously fickle weather brings sudden downpours that have decided championships and produced some of the sport's most unforgettable races. Add a fervent home crowd and a circuit that punishes and rewards in equal measure, and Interlagos remains a sentimental favourite where title fights so often reach their climax.
