The story of Franco Colapinto

Franco Colapinto, born in Pilar, Argentina in 2003, became one of the sport’s breakout stories when he was handed a Williams race seat midway through 2024 to replace Logan Sargeant. He impressed immediately, scoring points and turning heads with a series of mature performances.

Backed for 2025 by Alpine, he served as reserve before returning to a race seat during the season, and he carries the Argentine flag back to the front of fans’ attention for the first time in years.

He is confirmed for a full Alpine campaign in 2026 alongside Pierre Gasly, the team’s long-term project for the new rules.
