The story of Gabriel Bortoleto
Gabriel Bortoleto, born in Osasco, Brazil in 2004, completed a remarkable back-to-back junior double: champion of the FIA Formula 3 Championship in 2023 and the FIA Formula 2 Championship in 2024, both at the first attempt — a feat shared by only a handful of drivers in history.
Managed early on within the McLaren and then Sauber orbit, he stepped up to Formula 1 with the Sauber team in 2025 and impressed as a rookie against vastly more experienced opposition.
In 2026 he continues with the squad as it becomes Audi’s works entry, a cornerstone of the manufacturer’s long-term project alongside Nico Hülkenberg.
