The story of Sergio Pérez

Sergio Pérez, from Guadalajara in Mexico, reached Formula 1 with Sauber in 2011 and spent a single season at McLaren before a long and successful spell with the Force India and Racing Point team. There he earned a reputation as a brilliant tyre manager and a master of opportunistic races, taking his first win at the 2020 Sakhir Grand Prix.

That victory earned him a seat at Red Bull Racing, where from 2021 to 2024 he won multiple Grands Prix, supported the team to constructors’ titles and finished runner-up in the 2023 drivers’ standings. After a year away from the grid in 2025, he was lured back for a new challenge.

In 2026 the hugely popular Mexican spearheads the brand-new Cadillac team alongside Valtteri Bottas, charged with leading an all-new operation into Formula 1.
